About This Workplace

Meytier Partner

We are seeking a senior Enterprise Solution Architect who combines deep technical hands-on ability with the strategic foresight to shape architecture at enterprise scale. The ideal candidate brings a primary domain depth, either in Data Engineering & Analytics or Application Development & Infrastructure, backed by 8+ years in an Architect role, and meaningful cross-domain exposure in the secondary area (4+ years).

This is not a purely advisory role. You will design, whiteboard, review, and govern, and roll up your sleeves alongside delivery teams while simultaneously guiding client stakeholders and senior leadership. You will drive architectural consistency across multi-cloud environments (Azure primary; AWS and GCP secondary), embed SRE and reliability engineering best practices, define standards aligned with industry frameworks (Well-Architected Framework and TOGAF), and translate complex business problems into clear, scalable, and pragmatic solutions.

What You'll Do

Data Architecture Oversight (Primary or Secondary Domain)

·        Provide architectural direction and governance across enterprise data platforms, data lakes, warehouses, lakehouses, streaming systems, and analytics platforms.

·        Define and enforce data architecture standards including data quality, lineage, access control, security, and compliance requirements.

·        Review and govern solution designs for scalability, security, performance, and operability, with hands-on involvement in critical design decisions.

·        Align data architecture initiatives with business objectives and engineering practices to enable scalable, high-performing, and reliable data solutions.

·        Define and own data platform roadmaps, driving alignment between data strategy and evolving business priorities.

·        Identify and implement AI-powered data tooling (intelligent data quality, automated lineage tracking, AI-assisted pipeline monitoring) to standardise data operations and improve both engineering efficiency and output quality.

Application Development & Infrastructure Leadership (Primary or Secondary Domain)

·        Lead the design and oversight of enterprise-grade applications: web, mobile, APIs, and cloud-native distributed systems.

·        Establish and govern technology stack standards (.NET, Java, Python, JavaScript frameworks) with a bias toward modular, domain-driven, and clean architecture patterns.

·        Define infrastructure architecture patterns including containerization, serverless, service mesh, and cloud-native compute across Azure, AWS, and GCP.

·        Guide engineering teams in adopting clean architecture principles, test-driven development, and scalable delivery patterns for distributed and cloud-native systems.

·        Lead technology selection and trade-off analysis to recommend fit-for-purpose solutions across heterogeneous stacks.

·        Champion the integration of AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted code review, automated test generation) into the development lifecycle to standardise coding practices and measurably accelerate delivery without compromising quality.

Multi-Cloud Architecture & Governance

·        Architect solutions on Microsoft Azure (primary) with working proficiency in AWS and GCP, selecting the right platform based on workload, cost, and capability trade-offs.

·        Apply Well-Architected Framework principles (Azure, AWS, GCP) in hands-on solution design, reliability, security, performance efficiency, cost optimization, and operational excellence.

·        Define guardrails, reference architectures, and platform patterns that enforce governance without stifling delivery velocity.

·        Conduct architecture reviews with a focus on conformance, risk identification, and actionable improvement guidance.

SRE & DevOps Engineering Enablement

·        Embed SRE and reliability engineering principles across engineering programs, defining and enforcing SLOs, error budgets, and reliability guardrails.

·        Ensure seamless integration between architecture, DevOps, and SRE practices to deliver reliable, automated, and scalable solutions.

·        Oversee the design and governance of CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and release reliability for both applications and data platforms.

·        Drive observability standards: logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting frameworks aligned to operational excellence.

·        Promote automation across the software lifecycle including build, test, deployment, monitoring, and recovery processes.

·        Champion continuous improvement and engineering excellence, enabling teams to deliver high-quality solutions reliably and efficiently.

·        Drive the strategic adoption of AI tools (GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted testing, intelligent monitoring, automated incident analysis) to automate repetitive engineering tasks, standardise DevOps practices at scale, and simultaneously improve developer productivity and release quality.

Solutioning, Trade-Off Analysis & Technology Selection

·        Lead solution design sessions, from initial whiteboarding and ambiguity resolution through to detailed architecture documentation and stakeholder sign-off.

·        Drive structured trade-off analysis across build vs. buy, technology choices, and platform options, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural integrity.

·        Translate complex, ambiguous business problems into structured, deliverable architectural blueprints.

·        Contribute to RFPs, pre-sales, and solution estimation with technically credible, outcome-aligned proposals.

Roadmap Definition & Strategic Alignment

·        Define and communicate solution and capability roadmaps that align with business goals, technology evolution, and investment priorities.

·        Partner with business and technology leaders to shape architecture strategy over 12-36 month horizons.

·        Identify technical debt proactively and recommend prioritized remediation roadmaps.

Enterprise & Engineering Practice Oversight

·        Provide architectural oversight across Software Engineering, Multi-Cloud (Azure primary; AWS and GCP secondary), and selective Data platforms.

·        Define and enforce enterprise-wide architecture standards, guardrails, and reference architectures, practically aligned with TOGAF principles and Cloud Well-Architected Frameworks.

·        Ensure alignment between business objectives, engineering practices, and platform capabilities.

·        Review and govern solution architectures for scalability, security, cost efficiency, and operability.

·        Institutionalise AI tool adoption as a practice standard across engineering teams -- defining governance frameworks for AI-assisted development, automated quality gates, and AI-driven process standardisation that deliver consistent productivity gains without sacrificing engineering rigour.

Architecture Governance & Quality

·        Own and evolve enterprise architecture artifacts: standards, reference architectures, design patterns, and architecture decision records (ADRs).

·        Review solution designs for architectural conformance, reliability, security, and quality; provide actionable, constructive guidance to delivery teams.

·        Establish architecture review board (ARB) cadences and governance models appropriate to program scale.

Customer, Partner & Stakeholder Engagement

·        Act as a trusted architectural advisor to customers, technology partners, and senior internal stakeholders, influencing technology decisions at senior and executive levels.

·        Drive technical discovery, solutioning workshops, and executive-level presentations, adapting communication style fluently between technical and business audiences.

·        Whiteboard and present solutions confidently, driving consensus and alignment across diverse teams and stakeholders.

·        Collaborate with customer technology leaders, onshore architects, delivery teams, and SMEs to shape technically sound and business-aligned solutions.

·        Translate business needs into robust, reliable, and future-ready architectures, from whiteboard to production blueprint.

Must-Have Skills

·        20+ years of comprehensive IT experience, including 8+ years in a Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect role in either Data Engineering & Analytics or Application Development & Infrastructure as the primary domain.

·        4+ years of cross-domain experience in the complementary domain (Data or App Dev/Infra), demonstrating architectural breadth.

·        Hands-on, deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, architecture, design, and implementation across compute, storage, networking, data, and security services; not limited to oversight.

·        Working proficiency in AWS and/or GCP, capable of designing, reviewing, and governing multi-cloud workloads across cloud platforms.

·        Practical application of Well-Architected Frameworks (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in production solution design, demonstrated hands-on implementation, not theoretical familiarity.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of TOGAF principles and their practical application in enterprise architecture governance and design.

·        Strong understanding of SRE principles, SLOs, error budgets, reliability patterns, and observability frameworks, with experience embedding these into engineering programs.

·        Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, AI-assisted code review, automated testing, intelligent monitoring and incident analysis) to automate and standardize engineering practices, achieving simultaneous, measurable gains in team productivity and solution quality.

·        Proven ability to whiteboard solutions, drive structured solutioning workshops, and translate ambiguity into actionable architectural decisions.

·        Strong trade-off analysis and technology selection skills, able to evaluate options rigorously and recommend with clear rationale.

·        Experience defining solution and capability roadmaps aligned to business strategy and multi-year technology evolution.

·        Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills, able to communicate architecture clearly and persuasively to both technical teams and executive/business stakeholders.
